6/2/08 Live Fire Training

On Monday June 2, 2008 The Barrington Fire Company #1 had live fire training at the Cherry Hill Fire Department Training Academy. Crews worked on 1 and 1 training with their assigned companies. Squad 91's crew trained on fire attack while Quint 91's crew trained on the different positions of a first due truck company. The training was done with dummies to act as victims and were rescued from the building. For the last evolution companies switched and Quint 91 became fire attack and Squad 91 acted as the first due truck company. 5/27/08 Task Force 32

On May 27, 2008 at approximately 14:00hrs Task Force 32 was dispatched to a dwelling fire on Chestnut Ave. Squrt 32 arrived first due and stretched one 1 3/4 handline through the front door. Quint 33 arrived and started horizontal ventilation. Quint 91 arrived and the irons and can man went inside to assist with Squrt 32 with overhaul and checking for extension. Quint OV and Roof threw a ladder to the roof, cleared out windows and secured the gas on the B side of the dwelling. Quint 91 was back in service within an hour. Photos Courtesy Ken Willson.

5/26/08 Memorial Day Services

On May 26, 2008 the Barrington Fire Company #1 held their Memorial Day services in front of the firehouse. The service was well attended by members and family. Task Force 75 4/30/08

Quint 91 responded into Runnemede for a working building fire. Barrington Assistant Chief Sutch (9102) arrived with Runnemede Engine 753 to find fire showing from division C of a two story wood frame office building. Quint 91 arrived and went to work as the first due truck company. Members of the quint ladder three sides of the fire building, vented for the advancing attack hose, and performed a primary search. Engine 753's crew along with Quint 91's OV and inside team quickly identified that the fire was running the floor between floors one and two and directed the second hose line to floor one. There were no injuries on the fire ground, and Quint 91 inside team rescue on cat from the fire building.Photos Courtesy Ken Willson

Task Force 32 3/22/08

Quint 91 responded on mutual aid to Bellmawr for a working dwelling fire. Quint 91 arrived with first due Squirt 32 from Bellmawr Fire Rescue. Members of Quint 91 split up to cover the fire ground. Inside team members conducted a primary search and assisted the attack team with advancing on the fire. Outside team members performed horizontal ventilation opposite the fire attack, forced entry to the attached garage, and cut two ventilation holes in the roof. The fire was quickly brought under control with a 2 1/2" attack line and finished off with 1 3/4" attack lines. There were no injuries on the fire ground.Photos Courtesy Corky Pawling

Brooklawn 2 Alarm Fire 2/7/08

At approximately 07:30hrs Squad 91 was dispatched to cover Brooklawn Fire Department. When responding Squad 91 was advised to proceed into the job. Upon arrival to the job Squad 91's crew were put to work to check the D side exposure. While investigation Squad 91 found a lot of heat and stretched a hand line to protect the stairs. The crew opened the walls next to the stairs to expose heavy fire. The Squad nozzle man knocked the fire down and the crew continued to hooks the walls and ceilings. The Squad irons man checked the attic for extension to find light smoke. Squad officer pulled siding down with help from Westville's Ladder. Squad 91 advised command the exposure was clear of fire and went back in service at 08:45hrs.Photos Courtesy www.phillyfirenews.com

Haddon Heights 2 Alarm Fire 1/31/08

At 11:30hrs on January 30th Task force 2 was dispatched to the 800 block of Station Ave. at a multiple family dwelling for a dwelling fire. Squad 91 arrived on scene and assumed water supply. Squad 91's crew went to the first floor to search for the fire. Squad 91's officer and hydrant man went to the basement and found that the chimney was compromised causing smoke to come into the basement and fill the first and second floors. Irons and Nozzle opened the wall in a first floor apartment to look for extension. Quint 1-1 used their main to clear debris from the chimney. After clearing the chimney and venting the whole dwelling Squad 91 was back in service.

3 Alarm Bellmawr Building Fire 1/30/08

On January 30th at approximately 19:30hrs Quint 91 was dispatched to 131 Harding Ave. for a building fire. Quint 91 along with the Command Car responded with a total of 9 firefighters. Upon arrival Quint 91's crew split and went inside to check for extension and to perform a trench cut to attempt to cut off fire spread. While crews were on the roof 300 pulled everyone out of the building and off the roof and started defensive operations. Quint 91's crew secured their tools and went to the manpower pool. After being released from the job, Quint 91 responded to Station 32 for a cover assignment. While covering Quint 91 ran 1 call to the Red Roof in for the alarm system. Task Force 75 Box 1/27/08

At 09:25hrs Quint 91 and the Command Car responded to the 800 block of Cresent Ave. in Runnemede for a dwelling fire. Quint 91's officer, can, and irons went inside and performed the primary search and checked for extension of fire to the attic. Both proved negative. Quint Roof and 9103 threw ladders to check the chimney for fire extension while Quint OV laddered the D side of the building and opened up the outside wall opposite the fire. With no extension, OV and 9102 proceeded to the roof to do vertical ventilation. Quint 91 stayed on scene to assist restoring Station 75's apparatus. Haddon Heights Apartment Fire

At approximately 2:50pm on January 1, 2008 Task Force 2 was dispatched to 405 White Horse Pike, the Haddon Knolls Apartments for an apartment fire. 210 reported a microwave on fire that has extended to the cabinets above it. Quint 1-1 was first due and stretched an 1 3/4 handline. Engine 213 assisted with fire attack and search while Quint 91 took the truck company assignment. Quint 91 irons and officer, checked for extension on the second floor and vented the apartment directly over the fire apartment. OV Man, Roof, and Chauffeur threw ground ladders to the C division and forced the rear door. Quint 91 OV and Roof man assisted Quint 1-1 with removing the microwave.
