Lawnside Dwelling Fire

On 12/11/07 at 12:59hrs Task Force 27 (Lawnside,Barrington,Magnolia,Haddon Heights, special call of Runnemede) were dispatched to the two hundred block of Miller Ave. 2701 arrived on location with heavy fire showing from the first floor front window. Quint 91 arrived on location and proceeded to do truck work. Quint 91 irons and can went inside to search. Searches were negative on the first floor and the crew proceeded to the second floor because of a report of a trapped child. The second floor search was negative. Iron and can then stretched a second 1 3/4 line to check for extension to the second floor. Quint 91 OV proceeded to the C division and threw ground ladders. When fire attack commenced the OV man proceeded with horizontal ventilation of the first floor. Quint 91 Chauffeur and Officer threw ground ladders to division C and assisted with ventilation. Quint 91's crew set up PPV when the fire was placed. After PPV was set up the crew threw ground ladders to division B to check the soffet for extension. There was a small amount of embers which Quint 91 and Engine 21's crews took care of. Christmas Parade

On November 23, 2007 @ 1900 hours The Boro of Barrington will have its annual Christmas Parade. Fire Departments from around the region will participate with their fire trucks brightly decorated for the holiday season. Please come out and enjoy this holiday tradition.

Dwelling Fire

On Novemeber 2, 2007 @ 1422 hours Taskforce 9(Barrington, Lawnside, Bellmawr and Haddon Heights Fire Depts) were dispatched to Nassau Drive in the Tavistock section for a house fire. Quint 91 responded in 4 minutes, with a crew of 4 under the direction of Assistant Chief Houck. Barrington Police were on scene reporting heavy smoke showing from the house. Quint 91 arrived and A/C Houck reported smoke showing from a 2 story, single family dwelling. Quint 91 stretched a handline into the house to attack the fire on the first floor. Lawnside FD obtain a water supply and then took a second handline to the 2nd floor to attack the fire on that floor. Haddon Heights FD took roof/ventilation operations, with Bellmawr FD suppling manpower. At the 10 minute mark, A/C Houck ordered the "All Hands" and a second truck company. This brought Westmont FD as the F.A.S.T. (Firefighter Assist Search Team) and Audubon FD as the second truck company. At the 20 minute mark, A/C Houck placed the Fire "under control". Station 91 was assisted by the Runnemede Fire Dept and the Haddonfield Fire Dept who covered the area while these companies operated at the fire. The Camden County Fire Marshals Office also assisted at the scene.

Fire Prevention Week!

Fire Prevention is coming up and the Barrington Fire Company would like to invite everyone to Barrington's fire prevention night on Wednesday October 10, 2007. The night will begin at 7:00pm and end at 9:00pm. The event will be held at the firehouse on the corner of second avenue and haines avenue. There will be fire truck rides, food, and goodies for the children. Also that week will be the following fire preventions in the surrounding towns:

2 Car MVA With Overturned Truck I-295 Southbound 9/10/07

At approximately 11:00hours on September 10, 2007, Squad 91 and Rescue 32 were dispatched to Interstate 295 southbound for a MVA. While responding the accident was upgraded to a rescue assignment. Squad 91 was first due and discovered the driver was conscious and standing inside the overturned truck. Firefighters from Squad 91 extricated the victim by cutting the windshield off the truck. With assistance from Rescue 32, oil dry was applied on the roadway for a heavy leak of transmission fluid. After Rescue 32 plugged the leak, Squad 91's crew assisted B.L.S with packaging of the victim in the second vehicle involved. Crews became available at approximately 12:00hours. Vehicle Fire 6/19/07

At approximately 14:45 hours Station91 and Engine 21 were dispatched to Clements Bridge Road and East Gloucester Pike for a vehicle fire. Squad 91 responded within minutes with 4. Upon arrival Squad 91's crew stretched the 1 3/4 bumper line and extinguished the fire within minutes. Crews clearing withing 30 minutes of dispatch.






Task Force 32 6/18/07

While Station 91 was drilling on Davis Rd. Quint 91 was dispatched at approximately 21:15 hours on a Task force 32 Box to Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr. Quint 91 being the first due truck took the front of the building and threw ground ladders. The Main was put up to investigate the roof with no extension found. Units stood by until utilities were secured and were soon released. Quint 91 was back in service within an hour.

Memorial Day 2007

On Monday May 28, 2007, the Barrington Fire Company celebrated Memorial Day with a Memorial Service for past members. The President and Vice President read names of members who passed away in the past year. Followed by the Barrington Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, whom read the names of all deceased members. The Barrington Ambulance Association placed a wreath for all past members. Colors were then raised by Firefighter Rick Rettinger assisted by explorers. The Company then had a prayer followed by taps by Firefighter Dan Pawling. After the Company Service members attended the town service located at the Borough Hall.

Barrington Fire Company Celebrates 100 years!

On April 28, 2007, The Barrington Fire Company celebrated 100 years of service by having a parade and party to follow. The parade was attended by over 60 fire apparatus and personal vehicles. The parade went well, with many companies and people receiving trophies. The party started shortly there after with food and drinks. The Toonz entertained the crowd with a long set. Once night hit it was time for the members and families to celebrate with a DJ and even a birthday cake. All members enjoyed the day, and are looking forward to the 100th anniversary banquet this January. For more pictures see

Vehicle Fire 3/9/07

At Approximately 17:15 hours on March 3, 2007 Station 91 and Engine 21 were dispatched the the Rite Aid on the corner of Clements Bridge Road and Gloucester Pike. Squad 91 responded with 4. Upon arrival Squad 91's crew led off with and 1 3/4 handline, and make quick work of the fire. Engine 21's crew assisted with overhaul and cleanup after the vehicle was extinguished. Both companies were in service within an hour.

MVA 2/23/07

At approximately 02:15 hours on February 23, 2007, Squad 91 and Rescue 32 were dispatched to the off ramp of 295 south for a motor vehicle accident rescue assignment. Rescue 32 responded on route 295 while Squad 91 responded to White Horse Pike. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and hit the curb and flipped into the wooded area coming to rest against a tree on its side. Rescue 32 and Squad 91 stabilized the vehicle with junkyard dog struts. Squad 91 extricated the driver and assisted BLS 9 with packaging and loading of the driver into the ambulance.
