On Thursday, July 16, 2009 at about 10:20 in the morning the Barrington Fire Company was dispatched to a dwelling fire at 23 West Gloucester Pike. An off duty Captain from the Cherry Hill Fire Department came across the fire and called it in. The working fire box was hit automatically bringing in Squad 13 as the RIT company. 1401 (Riggs) was first on scene reporting smoke showing from a 2nd floor window of a 2 story multi-family dwelling. Quint 91 arrived and went into service, stretching an 1 3/4 handline. Quint 91's officer (Marcinonis) assumed command. Lt. Houck reported he had a kitchen fire and crews would have water on the fire momentarily. Rescue 32 arrived and assisted with opening up and checking for extension. The fire was held to the kitchen and Camden County Fire Marshals are investigating.
